SAXON HALL

SAXON HALL grew up on the beaches and farmlands on the east coast of Tasmania: surfing, hiking and cycling. Architecture was he’s first choice as he was exposed to carpentry, Tasmanian timbers and construction sites from a young age. He enrolled at the School of Architecture + Design at UTAS, which has internationally recognised programs in Learning by Making, as it suited, he’s hands-on, problem-solving approach to design.

After graduating in 2013, Saxon worked for a number of multidisciplinary practices and was able to employ he’s excellent computer skills on a wide range of architectural, graphic design, interior design and planning projects. Shifting to Hobart in 2017, he was attracted to Morrison & Breytenbach Architects because of this practice’s strong sustainable design ethic and commenced with them that year.

He has a strong interest in energy-efficient, environmentally sustainable design, and loves the opportunity to provide clients with architectural design solutions that suit their lifestyle; even better, when they may not have realised the full extent of the opportunities.

Saxon has worked on residential, multi-residential, tourism, educational, public, master planning and heritage projects and enjoys the problem- solving scenarios and generating architectural solutions that are adapted for our climate, landscape and place.

Saxon now runs his own part-time practice whilst further developing his skill set in construction procurement & project management beyond the standardised architectural services. This provides his clients with an enhanced skill set that is moulded towards the current Tasmanian Building & Construction Climate that results in a more seamless collaborative solution.

Saxon is a Registered Australian Institute of Architects member and has been a committee member of the AIA Emerging Architects and Graduate Network (EmAGN TAS)
